Brazil march into semi-finals after defeating Colombia

Silva and Luiz goals prove decisive

Brazil have secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup after defeating Colombia 2-1 in a thrilling quarter-final match.

Goals from Thiago Silva and David Luiz, the latter a stunning free-kick, proved to be decisive for the hosts, who will now face Germany in the last four.

Colombia had taken the lead through James Rodriguez, but Brazil rallied to equalise through Silva before Luiz's free-kick sealed the victory.
